Just as she was getting ready to go out, there was a knock at the door. Curious, she went to the door and opened it to reveal a young man, no older than sixteen. This young man was a bit overweight, wearing glasses and dressed plainly in blue jeans and a simple t-shirt. In his hand was a pie, wrapped in Saran Wrap.
"Hi. I'm Nate. I live next door with my Mom and my brother, Kris," said Nate. "She said I should bring this over to you to welcome you to the neighborhood. She said she would have done it herself, but she had to get to work."
"Oh wow, thank you so much," said Kathryn, taking the pie. "Won't you come in?"
"Oh, thanks," replied Nate.
Nate stepped into the house and looked around, remarking at how nice everything looked. "You house looks amazing. You did a great job fixing it up."
"Thank you so much," replied Kathryn.
"I hadn't even noticed anyone had moved in. How long ago did you move in?" asked Nate.
"Not long," replied Kathryn. She walked into the kitchen and put the pie down on the counter.
"Well, you should find the place relaxing. Nothing exciting ever happens around here," bemoaned Nate.
"Really? Nothing?" asked Kathryn from the Kitchen.
"Nothing. It is Dullsville, I swear," replied Nate.
This peaked Kathryn's mischievous instincts. She smiled to herself as she pulled out a large Tupperware container of several special types of cookies, each in the shape of a different type of mythical creature or being. She arranged them on a large plate and then walked back into the main living room with them.
"I just baked these cookies. How would you like to try one?" asked Kathryn, smiling.
"Oh wow...um...thank you," replied Nate. He looked over the various shapes, which seemed to all be in the shapes of different mythological creatures or monsters.
"What interesting cookie cutters you must have..." said Nate.
"Yeah, I had them made special," replied Kathryn.
Nate finally picked one, a cookie in the shape of...
