The next day, Saturday, had Nate going to his cousin's wedding along with his Mom and Dad. He got dressed in
his tux, with a dress shirt, vest, tie and jacket. He slipped on the shiny dress shoes and tied the laces. He
went downstairs and outside to wait for his folks. Kathryn was outside watering her plants and saw him outside
waiting.
"Looking good, Nate!" said Kathryn.
Nate turned around and spotted Kathryn. "Thanks!"
Nate's Mom and Dad came out and Nate introduced them to Kathryn. The exchanged pleasant hellos and then were
off to the wedding. The wedding was in an old, turn of the century church the next town over and was decorated
beautifully. The ceremony went off without a hitch. The wedding party then adjourned to the near-by country
club for the reception.
Nate, his Mom and his Dad chatted and had a good time. After a while, Nate went out on the dance floor and
started dancing along with assorted members of the wedding party. He caught the eye of another young man,
roughly his same age, Ben. Ben danced over to Nate.
"Hi, I'm Ben."
"Hi, Ben, I'm Nate."
"I gotta say, I love that streak of white hair you have, it's so punk rock!" replied Ben.
"What?!" replied Nate, feeling a sting of panic.
"Yeah, I think it's awesome."
Nate ran off to the men's room. He burst through the door and quickly checked under the stalls, relieved to
find the room empty. He checked himself out in the mirror. His fears were confirmed when he saw the white and
black fur growing in.
"No, please, please..." pleaded Nate. "Not here, not now."
Almost as if the spell was ignoring him, more fuzzy white fur grew in around his face as his ears grew out and
flopped over, his lips and nose darkened becoming more canine. He clenched his hands as they became covered in
the same white fuzz, quickly becoming thicker and thicker. He felt his body reform under all the fur, as his
feet and hands became paws and his face pushed out into a canine snout. Nate dropped to all fours, resigned to
his fate.
Someone else came into the room and Nate quickly darted out and made a straight shot for the front door and
went outside. He found himself panting and walked around to the side of the building, deciding he had no
choice but to wait it out until he turned back. He started exploring the place, taking in the new scents, and
enjoying his heightened senses. Thankfully it was a cool night, so he didn't mind being trapped under all that
shaggy fur. He had to admit, it was pretty cool. A couple hours passed and he heard his parents calling for
him.
"Oh no," whispered Nate. He wasn't turning back yet. This was not good.
