The brothers slept soundlessly through the night, being too exhausted to turn and shift in their sleep. In the morning, Kel was the first to wake. He and Jake had fallen asleep their heads lightly pressed together on one pillow with the covers brought all the way up to their chins. Kel laid their for a few moments, listening to his brother's soft breathing and looking out into the dark room. After a bit, he pulled the sheets down to their waist revealing the body they still shared. "Yep, we're still attached." Kel said with a half-smile. He turned to look at the clock. It was 6:00am. About this time in the morning, Kel would be getting up and making breakfast for himself. But seeing as he was firmly stuck to half of his sleeping brother he knew that wasn't happening right away. Jake liked to sleep in as long as possible, which up until now didn't really effect Kel. Surprisingly though, it wasn't that much longer before Jake started to stir from his heavy slumber. "Jake?" Kel asked.
"Ugh... Yeah. What time is it..." Jake groggily replied as he whipped the sleep from his eyes.
"Its 6:05" Kel replied, glad that he wouldn't have to be laying paralyzed in bed, waiting for Jake to wake. The two sat up in bed and spent the first couple of minutes talking. Both were unsure what to do next. "So... I guess we should probably get ready for school now." Kel finally said.
"School?" Jake asked.
"Yeah school, you know. The place where you boringly sit in a classroom listening to old people talk and talk and talk.
"No, I know what school is." Jake said, annoyed. "I meant, why would you even think about going to school? We can't go to school like this. We're still two heads on one body if you haven't noticed."
"Well, there might be a way to go unnoticed in a sense. I didn't think about it till now, but their might be a spell that could help us out. I remember reading it before you came home yesterday." Kel clarified. "I mean we obviously still can't separate, but we could make it that everyone would see 'us' as being normal. Well, as normal as if they had always seen us being joined."
"Wait, wait a minute. You can change the past with a simple spell." Jake asked, astonished.
"Change the past, no way. It only would change what people thought of us while they looked at us. Its complicated, but the spell, if done correctly, should hide the fact that we weren't born like this.
After thinking about it for a couple moments, Jake finally agreed. "Well, lets at least look at this spell."
