It was Dylan, Lilia's human boyfriend. "L-Lilia?" he choked. I came to s-surprise you for dinner, b-but it looks like you h-had a surprise for me!"
Lilia flew over to him. She landed in the palm of his hand and sat down. "I should have told you sooner. I always meant to tell you. After we were married or something. I'm a fairy, Dylan."
"You mean fairies are real?" Dylan asked. This was like learning the Moon was made of green cheese or that the President of the United States was really a unicorn in disguise.
"Of course we're real!" Lilia said a bit indignantly, "We just don't like being caught by curious humans! I guess we're so good at hiding from humans that they don't believe in us very much."
"I guess not," said Dylan, "but I certainly believe now." He marveled at Lilia's tiny body, gossamer wings, pink hair, and pointy ears.
"Like what you see?" Lilia giggled.
"Yeah, it's amazing," said Dylan, "I think I like you this way."
"Then I guess I can tell you my real name," said Lilia.
"I thought Lilia was your name," said Dylan.
"I just made that name up when I moved to your world because it sounded human," Lilia laughed, "Don't laugh, but my real name's Clover Flutterbreeze."
"Actually I kinda like that," said Dylan.
"Thanks!" Clover said, "That takes a load off my mind!"
"It's actually pretty cool having a girlfriend who's a fairy," said Dylan."
