"Well, I still need to learn more about the ring. Besides what it can do to you, what all can it do to me? That's something I'd like to know. I think I'll spend some time with it while you work. We can always get together for lunch," I pointed out.
"So, you're going to hang out in the library with me, then?" she summarized.
"Yeah, I think so. If you get a chance, you can always find me. It's 6:50, we ought to get there," he reminded her.
"Oh. We should. But you can't be there until 8 when the library opens," she warned him.
"Who besides you will know I'm there," I said as I disappeared from sight.
"Joe," she whispered. Suddenly, I wrapped Amanda in my arms and held her close. She shouldn't see me, but she could feel the warmth of my body. "I'm sure this looks kinda comical," she added.
"Perhaps not. I wish Amanda was totally invisible," my voice said. Amanda remained in my arms, but she was just as invisible to me as I was to her. "I'd suggest we not let go of each other. It might be a lot of fun trying to find each other again. Ready to go to the library?"
Amanda nodded, but I failed to see it. After a pause, "Ready, Joe."
With that, Amanda and I were located outside of the women's locker room in the basement of the library. I looked around and didn't see any one there. "I think it's safe," I commented. Amanda reappeared. She was astonished to see herself again with little warning.
"Joe?" she whispered.
"I'm still right here," I quietly returned. "There was something I wanted to do before you went to work, though."
