"Well, if I have a wish, I wish I was clocked in." Again, she looked a little pale. She staggered a little and then recovered. "Well, something happened."
"I guess so. Let's see if you're in fact clocked in."
We started walking towards the breakroom. "Joe, you're not supposed to be here," she reminded me. I made a wish and became invisible. We walked to the clock and found Amanda was check-in at 6:58.
"It worked, Amanda!" I exclaimed. Someone down the hall turned to look at Amanda.
"Sheesshhh," she hissed. "It worked. But what if I turn myself into something I shouldn't?"
"If I can't find you, the ring will. You know that," I calmed her.
"Okay. I'd better get up to the staff meeting," she urged.
"I wish Amanda to have one wish to make as she needs," I spoke from my invisible lips.
Amanda again wavered in her knees and stood solidly. "Wow, that feels weird. See you at lunch?" she asked.
"Yes, you'll see me then. I'll be up on the third floor where we were yesterday," my voice said.
Amanda turned and hurried up the stairs to the conference room.
I watched her disappear up the stairs. 'Now, what would I do until 11:30?'
