A stern knock at the door of Lonnie's small apartment some time later was in very fact his Landlord.
"Lonnie, tis' the time to pay up or get out!" called the Landlord as he keyed opened the door to Lon's apartment.
As he entered he gave a quick glance about to notice the clean and well kept arrangement of the apartment. Looking over his furniture and the kitchen area he decided that the place was still very worthy to rent.
A quick check with other tenants proved his theory that Lonnie had left but without his clothing, money, wallet, or any of his trappings. Thus he expected that his was a life taken away by some crime boss or even worse. Then still on the small living room table he noticed under the newspaper a glint of silver and the neck chain to one powerful Medallion.
Picking it up he looked at the twinkle of light in the center stone and such bright shined silver all about. "This should bring quite the price, maybe it's what got him killed?" thought the Landlord.
Turning he saw the clamor of nosier people peering into the empty apartment door. "Get the hell out of here there's nothing to see anyway!" he yelled and then closed the door as he headed for the Pawn shop.
