Mary gasped as she watched the ring appear on her new finger. She turned, her eyes bright and wide to Katie, then threw her arms around her friend. "Oh Katie! Thank you! You don't know what this means to me!"
Katie smiled, "Your ... well your the closest thing I've ever had to a best friend. I trust you with my life....and I want to share everything with you."
Mary blushed, combing back a few errant strands of hair. "Thank you. Is it OK if I try it out?"
"Yes of course, but who are you going to try it on?" Katie asked.
"Your mom." Mary said. Noticing Katie's surprise she held up her hands. "I know its tough for you to want to make a wish on her, because your afraid. I think I can word one just right so that she's one of us, and nothing bad will happen to you. Scout's honor!"
Katie pondered her friend's words. She had been tempted to do it herself, but was still afraid. Finally she nodded. "Alright Mary. I trust you. Make the wish."
Mary Elise nodded and took her friend by the hand and lead her downstairs to the kitchen where her mother still lay on the floor, half naked. Mary Elise knelt beside her and put the hand with the ring on her shoulder.
"I wish that Katie's mom would become one of the girls of the group, but that it would not affect katies age or existence. That her mom's essence remains in tact, regardless of what age we ever make her and that history and everyone but Katie and I remembers that her Mom dissipated long ago and left a good inheritance to keep Katie safe and content. That she was a ward of herself, and no one thought it was wrong because of an old law no one recalled. I wish that katie's mom was now her slightly younger twin sister, that the two shared a deep love and respect and that Katie never have to worry about losing herself or her age again. I also wish Kellie would get clothes fitting for her new age and that the house and belongings of both Katie and Kellie reflect all this."
