It began when I made her clothes disappear

Fair Enough

“A forest?” Tiffany asked. “Is your ring trying to tell us that the only place we’ll be accepted is the middle of nowhere; away from civilization?”

“I’m not so sure about that…” Jenny says.

It was a forest, but not like any either of them has ever been in. There was something magical about this place. No sooner did Jenny start to wonder about what, or who, could make their home in this forest than her question was answered.

“I told you I sensed something.” Came a high-toned voice.

The two girls turned to see a pair of small glowing female figures hovering before them, one shimmering in blue, the other, a greenish yellow. They had long, thin limbs, but they were not sickly looking; a dress-like array of petals that seemed to grow from their skin; lengthy antennae on their foreheads, emerging from their bangs; long, pointed ears; and eyes of a solid color, a similar color of their respective glow, but deeper. A blurring behind their backs gave the impression of wings. They were fairies.

“Humans, here?” the yellow fairy asked. “But how?”

“That ring,” the blue fairy said, “I have no doubt that’s what brought them here.”

”Oh, yeah; its power is indeed sufficient to bypass our protection spells.” The yellow fairy said before looking at Jenny and bringing the blue fairy closer to her. “I don’t know why you’re here, but don’t you even think of hurting my little blueberry!”

“Desnia, stop,” the blue fairy giggled, “not in front of the humans. You’ll have to forgive my love, Desnia, here; she can be overprotective of me at times.”

“Sorry Twixlie, but you know how much you mean to me.” Desnia said, nuzzling Twixlie’s cheek.”

“Oh, uh… are we intruding on something?” Jenny asks.

“Not at all;” Twixlie said; “we were just flying around, enjoying our time together when I sensed a magical power at work.”

Something clicked in Tiffany’s mind and she pulled Jenny away for a moment. “Don’t you see, this is why the ring brought us here.” She whispered.

“What do you mean?” Jenny asked.

“See how open they are about their love; to complete strangers, no less?”

“Yeah, but… wait, you mean…” Jenny said, looking at her ring again.

Tiffany just smiled and nodded.

“Just so you know,” Desnia said, “these ears of ours aren’t just for decoration. We both can hear you perfectly well.”

The two girls turned back to the fairies, blushing.

“Incidentally, if you’re thinking of becoming fairies yourselves, there’s something you should know first.”
