The icon exploded in a burst of glitter and a figure materialized. It looked like a fairy! She had violet hair done up in pigtails, solid blue eyes, slightly larger than usual and long, pointed ears. Her head, itself was a bit larger in proportion to the average human body. Her build was slim with perky, modest sized breasts draped in a simple blue sundress of flower petals with matching flats of the same material.
“Hi, I’m Nexlie!” She stated in a cheerful voice. Her wings started to vibrate as she lifted off the ‘ground’.
“What is this, a new screensaver?” Rachelle asked to herself.
“I’m no screensaver, I’m a fairy; in case the pointy ears and fluttery wings didn’t give it away.” Nexlie said.
“Cool, it’s interactive!” Rachelle beamed.
“What do you mean ‘it’?” The fairy huffed, her arms folded, dropping down onto another icon and folding her wings. “I’m not a thing!”
“Sorry, I meant no disrespect. Um, I’m pleased to meet you, I’m Rachelle.”
“Thank you;” Nexlie said before hopping off the icon and walking around; “and it’s a pleasure to meet you, too, Rachelle.”
Rachelle felt something was strange about this whole thing, so she turned her microphone and speakers off. “Okay, this is too weird. Whatever I’ve got here, it seems way too complex and advanced for even my computer to handle. Maybe if I…”
“I can still hear you~!” Nexlie cut off Rachelle . It was clear now that the fairy’s voice was coming from the screen itself.
“W-what are you?” Rachelle asked.
“A-HEM!” Nexlie said, pointing at her flared wings.
“Well, I know that, but… fairies aren’t real; and I certainly never heard of one showing up on a computer before!”
“Yeah, that was a tough one to figure out, we fairies usually don’t interact with your technology, heck, if you hadn’t released me from that icon, I might have been stuck like that for who knows how long. Thank you for that, by the way.”
“Uh… you’re welcome?”
“Still not convinced, eh? Well, that can be taken care of.” Nexlie said as she fluttered her wings and flew toward the screen. The monitor seemed to stretch a bit as the fairy’s head began pushing through, the sight causing Rachelle to jolt back in her chair. Nexlie’s hands and arms emerged from the screen next, propping themselves on the screen as her wings stopped beating and folded back. She bent over to free her wings, which started fluttering again, allowing her to squeeze her legs out.
Rachelle was shocked; a real live fairy just jumped out of her monitor and was hovering inches from her face. “W- what do you want with me!?” Rachel said, panicky.
“Calm down Rachelle, I’m not going to harm you.” Nexlie said. “As for why I’m here…”
