"My lady it is time to get up." your body rose as instructed and you looked to see one of the maids had came to wake you up. She bowed and said "May your birthday be blessed by the sun."
You smiled and said "Thank you for your concern. I feel strong and refreshed, ready to greet the day. Now then mind if I asked to have my breakfast brought to me now? I'm going to want to go out soon!"
The maid bowed and said "As you ask my lady." The maid then left and as soon as that occurred you went out of bed and went towards your closet and started to undress from your bed garments and dress yourself in some of the latest fashion from your kingdom. A somewhat large skirt that looked as if it were made of feathers, A blouse that was white and fluffy like a young chick's down, and a coat as sleek and black as a crow's feathers. You looked yourself in the mirror and thought about your life so far. The princess of the prosperous Phoenix Kingdom, and a direct descendant of the original rulers. This was your sixteen birthday and you had managed to convince your parents to let you secretly out of the permitted castle grounds without guards. She would be surveyed with special magic, but for the most part she would be left more or less alone. You extended your pale white arms away from your sides and then concentrated at them and allowed magic to flow through them. Your long red hair and red eyes glowed as fire feathers emitted through the pores of your skin giving you the appearance of some humanoid phoenix. You stopped your families magic and was happy that the fire enchantments were working as they should. Although you didn't plan on using your magic if you needed it would be nice to be able to use the magic without showing the whole kingdom your entire divine form.
A different maid knocked and opened your rooms door saying "Pardon my intrusion my lady, may your birthday be blessed by the sun." She was carrying your breakfast, A hearty helping of more high quality commoner food.
You smiled and asked "did the King and Queen tell you to bring this as some sort of joke?"
the maid thought for a second and then said "It was not a joke, it was made to celebrate your day out in the public." The maid put down your food on your desk and bowed then left.
you sighed and went to eat the plate of hearty bacon, eggs, and toast with some splendid marmalade. Mother and Father always liked to subtly joke around with some of her fancies. At least it wasn't like the time you wanted a horse to ride and they gave you some horse meat for a week. You were glad they were letting you out though, the days of training and lessons must have made them trusting of you.
