Alicia's tentacle released your wrist and slipped from your grasp. Then Alicia threw herself at you, jumping as much as she could spring with her tentacles. Given the short distance and her slight elevation on the rock, it was enough. You were also quick enough to get both arms out to help catch her, but the force of her jump caused you to stumble backwards and fall onto your backside. This left you sitting in the shallow water with Alicia in your lap, your arms around each other and some of Alicia's tentacles around you too.
"Whoops" said Alicia. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine; the sand is soft."
"I was just so happy that you still like me like this. Thank you!"
Alicia hugged you and you hugged back. You noticed Alicia wasn't just hugging you with her arms, but some of her tentacles as well.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but I didn't know if anyone, even you, would still like me when I'm half octopus."
"Octomaids are still beautiful mermaids" you said and followed with a kiss. Alicia returned it and each of you held the other tight again.
