One day a chain suddenly appeared in all sorts of locations across the world almost like magic. The products they were all selling basically did whatever you needed them to do, and unsurprisingly some of the products had some magical effects. You could pay with money but if you couldn't afford the products then they would come with some sort of conditions, and of course sometimes the products didn't act the way you exactly want... which surprised basically no one.
You see at this point in the world people knew magic existed, but didn't know much about it. They understood magic could do extraordinary things, but also was a bit risky. From certain T.V. shows like the twilight zone people knew that these magic items were useful, but should not be abused. The magicians who created the store just wanted to introduce people to magic in a way that would make people feel more comfortable with magic, and currently they've been doing a good job. People have been buying and using these items and those who used them responsibly have benefited greatly, and people who were abusing magic ended up on a T.V. show that poked fun at the people since they usually ended up in really odd situations. Heck because the chain just suddenly arrived everywhere like it was magic people kinda understood that there was something odd about the chain so they first proceeded with caution when using the magic items which made it so there wasn't so much of a backlash. Sprinkle in some paperwork which made it so they weren't liable for what their magic items did, and the chain became fairly successful. The chain was named The Store of Needs as somehow there was always something that someone needed inside when they came to the chain.
