When Connor came back from orientation he was met but another person in his room. Guy who Connor thought looked like a young Josh Hutcherson was relaxing on the bed jumped up right away when Connor entered the room. Connor smiled and introduced himself. The other guy was looking down the entire time, he appeared nerve. “Hey,” he said meekly.
Connor cleared his throat, “and what is your name?”
“Dy- Dylan,” the other roommate said.
“Ah, well nice to meet you Dy Dylan!” Connor chuckled but it didn’t appear Dylan reacted to his little joke. Dylan was still looking down, he seemed very nervous. Connor was put in an awkward situation, he was normally used to a more outgoing crowd but Dylan seemed very shy and introverted. He didn’t wear any appearance of confidence, his body was average and he kept his eyes looking downwards. He looked like one of those average types you normally see in the background with no real traits or talents, not a jock, not a nerd, not skinny, not fat, just average. Conner, was slightly relieved as he was worried about having very outgoing, noisy roommates, but was not too sure about how to deal with Dylan. Did something happened to this kid? Seems like the type of person bullies would pick on.
Connor tried to break the ice. “So, what year are you?”
“Sophomore year,” Dylan continued with his eyes down as he sat on the bed.
So he was one year younger, Connor thought. He continued, “and what is your were form?”
Dylan rubbed the back of his neck. “Umm… it’s a Welsh Corgi.”
Connor jumped in excitement, “Really?! I love corgis! I used to have a pet corgi myself.”
Dylan looked up for the first time with a slight smile, “really?”
“Yeah, corgis are my favorite type of dog.” Connor sat next to Dylan on the bed. He looked around and noticed the dog bed again, it was most likely Dylan’s. Connor examined Dylan he was somewhat small and short, and appear to have a slight appearance of a corgi. Dylan even wore a dog collar on his neck. Trying to be nice Connor said, “yeah I think we will be best of friends.”
Dylan smiled. “And what is your form?”
“Well… I think I will tell you and Kevin together when he returns.”
“Okay,” Dylan smiled.
Connor got back up and started unpacking. He really didn’t want to reveal his form, to anyone but he knew he would have to. He only had this were-transformation for a few months now but is very embarrassed with it. At his previous school, he was a very outgoing confident guy and a track star, but his were form didn’t reflect that. In fact the only time in his life when he feels helpless and powerless is when he is forced back into his other form every night. Even a corgi and chair are forms he would gladly trade for.
However sundown wouldn’t be for another few hours so he still had time to figure out how to come out to his roommates.
