Colin ran towards a fridge in the back of a truck. He flung the door open and started frantically tearing shelves out of it.
"What are you doing?" the Officer yelled.
"I saw this in a movie once!" Colin yelled as he finished gutting the fridge, "Now get in!"
With the bomb blasts growing ever closer, the lady cop had no time to object.
She squeezed in alongside the chunky gamer, ending up in the awkward position of her legs around his back and pressed up against him. Colin shut the door as debris from the explosions starts hitting the ground.
The truck is flipped into the air by an explosion as the fridge rolls out into the road next to another bomb, which blows the door off and knocks the fridge away from the bombing raid.
Colin clutched his bleeding arm as he and Officer Hemedez get up to see the torn apart road and flaming pyre that was the gas station pump... and the officer''s crushed bike beneath the rubble.
"Dammit." Officer Hemendez growled.
"Now what are we gonna do?" Colin moaned.
The flames licked the air as the two walked through the fumes and rubble. The heat was getting to them, everything was hard to see.
Lights shone as a military vehicle stopped by them and a soldier got out.
"Civilians to the back of a vehicle!" the soldier called.
The two obeyed and went inside the large carrier, as an army doctor removed the shrapnel and stitched up his wound.
Inside, they were surrounded by citizens displaced by the raid; it was a mixed bag to say the least.
