Screw this, you're not staying out here near these creepy mushrooms! Rain or not, you're getting in that cabin and away from those freaky things. Steeling yourself, you start power walking down the stream's edge, carefully dodging the patches of mushrooms that you're sure would love for you to slip up and touch them. Not today!
You skillfully dodge the fungus as you make your way down the hill towards the clearing, your hiking experience letting you gracefully negotiate the increasingly slippery terrain. Soon you reach the clearing's edge, and the rain really starts hitting you. The soil beneath you is already turning to mud, and your soaked hair clings to your neck. The raindrops pours over your eyes, making it hard to see. But you manage to make your way across the clearing and through the door of your cabin, latching it closed behind you.
Now that you're finally out of the rain, you pull off your soaked clothes until you're in just your underwear. You hang your coat up next to the door, and pile the rest of your clothes at the foot of your bed. You feel all sweaty and gross from the exertion, so you head into your small bathroom and start up the shower, feeling slightly amused that you braved the rain outside just to immediately take a shower.
Normally you like hot showers, but the storm outside is already raising the humidity and making you feel warm. So instead you settle on a cold shower. You set the temperature, pull off your socks and underwear, and step in.
You wash yourself off, starting at your head with shampoo and working your way down your body with the soap. As you reach your feet, you're alarmed to see a purple mass clinging to where you lost your shoe. You grab your bristle brush, soak it in soap, and start scrubbing furiously. You're not too late, thank god, and with a strange gurgling noise the purple mass loses its grip on your foot and goes swirling down the drain. You keep scrubbing until you're absolutely sure nothing is left on you, then breathe a sigh of relief, rinse off with soap one more time, and step out of the shower.
With all that you've been through today, it's time for a well-deserved rest. Putting on some new underwear, you slip into bed and drift off to sleep.
