"Melissa Fern." The new arrival chimed.
"Welcome to Mexico!" Devon exclaimed to Melissa before turning back to his team. "Everyone please introduce yourselves and help make Melissa here feel at home."
The rest of the team members made their way over and introduced themselves one by one. There weren't as many people as she thought, maybe seven or eight in all. After the introductions were over Devon, the foreman, called Melissa into his tent to go over camp policies and rules. He then called in another archeologist, named Heather, and explained that Melissa would be assisting her with the exploration of the newly discovered section of ruins. Devon then dismissed the two so they could start to get to know each other and put together a plan for the next day.
Melissa was a college graduate who was ready to get her hands dirty doing real work, not those lame internships and summer jobs she had been doing her entire college career. She stood about 5'10" tall. She had brown hair that she wore up most of the time. Her body was tan and decently toned from working outside in dig sites for the last few summers. She had a cheerful smile that completely gave away her excitement for being on a new dig.
Heather was a little older than Melissa and had dirty blonde hair. She was around 5'8" tall, had a slender body and a studious personality. She wore thin glasses that complimented her angular face.
Heather explained that the ruins they were excavating, were most likely Aztec. She spent the next few hours leading Melissa around the site, explaining the basic Aztec cultural tendencies as well as showing her the entrance to the unexplored section. Next they discussed what the team had already found and what they might expect to find next.
The sun set quickly and the pair called it a night. After all they had a big day of exploring coming up the next day.
