After hesitating a moment, Toni gritted her teeth and selected the option at the bottom of the page which said "Reset." She exhaled as all the selections which had been made in the Chronivac program went back to blanks. Maybe she just condemned someone to a living hell as an inanimate object, but she hadn't been the one to put them in that situation in the first place. Plus, there was always the possibility that the previous user had intended to trap themselves for eternity as a random fixture. At any rate, it wasn't her problem.
Still, it served as a good warning. Best not to make any changes permanent, and to always include a time limit. After all, if she wanted to continue the change, Toni could always just extend the time over and over. Anyway, the point of obtaining the Chronivac was so she could make her life more interesting. It would be boring to get stuck with just one change.
Putting the prior owner out of her mind, Toni clicked the "Scan" button at the top of the page, and watched with wonder as all sorts of information about her which the program could not have possibly known suddenly populated the screen. While there were basic templates for general changes - for example, turning into a dog, which would utilize the information already present and simply conform the changes as close as possible to that information - there were also ways to specify changes down to the smallest details.
Toni couldn't help but feel excited, but tried to calm herself. After all, there was still a possibility this was a hoax, and nothing would really change. The only way to know for sure would be to try something.
