Beldazar was a brand new Genie. Every five hundred years a new Genie is created, though nobody knows how. These Genies usually contain all the basic knowledge that a genie should have. They know that whoever rubs their lamp gets three wishes, they understand what cannot be wished for, mess with wishes as best you can, etcetera. Unfortunately, humans have been practicing a lot less magic than usual, and as such, this has affected the newest Genie's creation.
At the front of the magic shop, a spark of light appeared. From that light came a bust of blinding energy that reformed into a classic looking genie lamp as if it were straight out of Aladdin. Just as the lamp finished forming, a high schooler happened to walk into the shop. His name was Brendan. Brendan has shaggy blond hair, tight but somewhat small muscles, and amazing complexion. He is his high schools best lacrosse player and he only stopped by the magic shop to buy a present for his dorky sister.
He looked around for a while ignoring all the remotes and rings that seemed out of place in such a shop and was about to leave when he spotted the new lamp. He noticed it looked just like the one in Aladdin and he knew his sister just loved that movie. He picked it up and brought it to the counter.
"Hey man." He asked in his chill tone. "How much for this lamp?" He asked.
The old man turned around smiling but his smiled quickly morphed into a more puzzled look and then back to happy. He knew what had happened and he knew the chaos it would bring so he decided to let the boy have it.
"Only a dollar son." The old man said with a chuckle.
Brendon was a little suspicious but decided the deal was too good and he walked out with the lamp and a dollar less. He made it home and walked past his father sleeping on the couch with a sneer. He always hated how lazy his dad was. He walked past his mother in her room cleaning up and felt and at how much work she always had to do. Finally he passed his sister Jenny playing with dolls and he smiled.
He sat in his room and placed the lamp next to him. He texted his friend about hanging out and then placed it down to charge. Brendan was about to place the lamp under his bed when he noticed a small scratch on the side. "Shit." he thought as he started to try and buff it out. The genie felt the movement and kew it was time.
"Finally!" The genie said as it attempted to fly out of its lamp. Unfortunately, he ended up smacking his head into the side. "Huh? What gives?" He thought as he rubbed his head. He tried again to leave but found it was impossible. He soon realized he couldn't escape as he sat down in his prison. "Hey kid?! Can you hear me?!" He yelled.
"Phew, I got the scratch out." The Genie heard Brendan say as the lamp was left under the bed.
The genie felt robbed and started to wave his hand in a square motion. A screen appeared and on it was a view of Brandon laying on his bread throwing a ball.
"Well, he may not know he has three wishes, but that won't stop me from granting any." The genie laughed as he waited for Brandon to say anything that even sounded like a wish. Meanwhile, Brendon was thinking about life and his family. Unfortunately for him, he had no idea anything wish related he would say would alter reality.
That's when...
