"Watch where you're going, loser!" said a whiny, high-pitched voice.
"Kimberly!" sighed Bill, climbing to his feet. "What are you doing here?"
Bill looked down at his younger sister, thirteen-year old Kimberly standing there with an angry look on her face. She was wearing a tiny, black t-shirt with the words "Girlz Rool" in a pink lettering, a pair of capri pants, and her favorite black and pink shoes. She wore glittery eyeshadow and had too much mascara and lipstick on, in a vain attempt to look older than she really was.
"Mom sent me out here to give you this," she said, handing Bill his backpack.
Crap! How could he have forgotten that.
"Thanks, dork," Bill told his sister, taking the backpack from her. Suddenly Bill noticed the strange emerald Grellstone in Kimberly's hands.
"What's this thing?" she said, holding it up to the light.
"It's mine," snapped Bill, reaching for it.
"No way, loser!" replied Kimberly, sticking her tongue out angrily at him. "You don't deserve anything pretty. Jewels and gems should go to girls."
"Give it back!" yelled Bill. "Or I'll take it back from you."
Kimberly replied by sticking out her tongue again, this time blowing Bill a raspberry as well.
"That does it," shouted Bill, tackling his younger sister to the ground. She still held tight to the Grellstone though. As the two wrestled on the sidewalk, a furious Kimberly shouted: "Let go, Bill! You always think everything is yours. I wish..."
