Ithulmia, a land plagued by unease. Since the dawn of its existence, the kingdom has never known rest.
At the dawn of Ithulmia's history, the god of light sealed away the god of darkness. A long war had preceded this event, lives lost beyond measure. With knowledge one of them would lose, the two deities wagered all on a structure built upon their conception; the Echoed Obelisk.
With the faith of his subjects, the god of light easily gained the upper hand as those who followed his counterpart's influence in the shadows could not bear witness to his eternal radiance.
However, the events leading up to the god of light sealing away the dark god resulted in the shattering of reality itself; and thus ended in creation of six "reflections" of Ithulmia, otherwise known as the Realm of Provenance.
With his victory having reigned supreme, the god of light's radiance stretches across Ithulmia and it's six reflections; the ones closest to the Provenance sharing in his light equally.
While these versions of Ithulmia at their base are perfect mirrors of the Provenance from the point the world's split, the ensuing millennia have resulted in a vast difference of cultural, geographical, and environmental evolution. Some races, while familiar between them all, have diverged greatly from each other in terms of adaptation. Even the name "Ithulmia" is not constant between them all.
The dark god had bided his time well in the millennia since. His hatred for his counterpart had grown strong, and with such a long span of time, his essence would begin to leak from the structure that had persisted throughout all worlds; growing stronger the further the reflection was from his counterpart's light, desiring to consume and corrupt all...
