Oliver flew higher and higher into the air, feeling the wind blow against his face feeling better than he ever has before in his life. He felt free, and the thought that he could do this as much as he wants was exhilarating.
Unbeknownst to him, the wind was starting to make his sneakers slip, he flew faster and faster and higher and lower until they flew off his feet.
Immediately he felt different, he felt much lighter and more streamlined, although with much colder feet........ 'WAIT, WHERE ARE MY SHOES!' he squawked. Looking down he saw the sneakers plummet towards the ground.
He nosedive down to get them but before he could reach them they fell onto a telephone wire and wrapped around.
Oliver fell onto the wire and tried to get them off with his hands. He was weighing down the wire but that was ok as long as he was fast. He pulled at the wires but the more he struggled the more he changed. His beak elongated and pointed, his feet become claw like and sharp, gripping onto the wire, and he gradually got more light.
His hands got so feathery he had to start using his beak, which he thought to himself felt a lot easier and more natural than using his feathe.... I mean, hands.
Eventually he untied the shoes and picked them up with his beak. But he had already changed. He had become much like an ordinary bird, he was even so light that the wire was back in it's original position.
He kept calm however, as he had the shoes now, and he was able to change back again. He swooped down to the ground and put the shoes down so he can step into them. But........
