While she waited for the high school to pick up, Tina watched Leah play with the toddlers. Even knowing Leah’s real age, she couldn’t dismiss how well her stepdaughter fit in. From head to toe, Leah didn’t look like a teenager, she looked like a toddler. And she acted like one too. Tina couldn’t let someone who looked and acted like a toddler go to high school.
“Hi, I’d like to take my stepdaughter Leah out of school,” Tina said, once she finally got a hold of the right person. “I’ll be homeschooling her from now on.” The call took a long time, since taking someone out of school wasn’t an easy task. During the time it took to pull Leah out of high school, the teenager in question got into a squat. Judging by how red Leah’s face got, she wasn’t just peeing this time. Julie swooped in and took Leah to a changing table.
“Ooh, big stinky,” Julie said as she carried Leah to be changed, confirming Tina’s suspicions. Leah was given a pacifier to suckle on during the change, furthering her infantile look.
With the call to high school over, Tina went off to find her boss and enroll Leah in daycare here. Hopefully, Leah’s behavior was just a phase that would pass, but in the meantime, Tina wanted to keep a close eye on her.
However, once she was given the necessary paperwork to fill out, Tina paused. She had to provide Leah’s birthdate. Should she give the correct year, revealing Leah to be a teenager, or write down that she had been born only a few years ago?
