The Thrivesons got smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller still.
Then, they felt it stopping. But William almost seemed sure they were gonna continue to shrink, possibly so small they'd vanish from existence.
And it wasn't too long that they soon saw their shrinking had stopped.
Lisa, Olly, and Andi managed to meet each other, and it was then they saw William, fighting his way out of a massive plaid trucker shirt that looked much like his own.
"We apparently have shrunk to the size of toys." Olly deduced.
"It's certainly true, son." William said, "Our clothes don't fit us anymore."
the family looked at the piles of their emptied clothes. it was true. they were doll-sized, and naked.
"WHat are we gonna do now?" Andi asked.
"Not to worry!" William said. "We can just MAKE some new clothes!"
he fetched his collection of cloth fabric scraps from a cupboard in the hall, and handed them some scraps and paperclips.
they fashioned the cloth scraps into makeshift clothing -
William was wearing a black fabric loincloth.
Lisa was wearing a short sleeveless dress top made from a purple fabric.
Ani was wearing something similar to her mom, but in light pink.
and Olly was wearing a lime green loincloth,
and all their fabric scrap clothes were fastened on by paperclips.
"Well," William said, putting on a holey red fabric handkerchief to resemble a poncho, "whaddaya think?"
"It's great, Dad!" Olly said.
"You always think of everything, honey." Lisa said.
"I know." William said modestly. "One time, i fashioned a towel out of a tarpaulin, and even a poncho out of it."
With that, the tiny Thrivesons decided to make the best of their situation, by exploring the giant house.
They walked in amazement around the giant dining room, under the giant table legs, and tucked into some giant crackers in the kitchen.
After their crackers, they walked back into the living room, and saw to their surprise that all their giant piles of emptied clothing had gone!
they were surprised.
but not quite as surprised as Lisa was when she saw...
