When they finally got towards the remote, still on the table, they realized another problem. “How do we use it now?”
It was something they hadn´t thought about before. Even if they had both become separate wolfs, how would they have used the remote with paws? That Kevin left it on the table instead of the ground made matters worse. What if it fell down and broke while they tried something?
“We still need it, Luke” Kevin thought to him, and so Luke tried to get to the remote. Carefully, Luke tried to grab it with their muzzle, but as they hadn´t hit exchange, the muzzle itself wasn´t strong enough to hold it up. It ended up falling off the table, and just out of reflex Luke dived after it, lucky it landed on his arms, the wolf forelegs and not the ground.
“That was close” Luke said, heart beating fast, and Kevin thought similar. Slowly, Luke let the remote slip to the ground. With it on the ground, they could at least try to use it now.
“Do you think we will separate if we hit the human button?” Kevin asked, fearing they were stuck like this.
“How would I know? Before, it worked that way on me, but we need to try if it does so with us merged.” Luke replied. He then tried to tip the remote on the human button, but his paw wasn´t that easy to work with as his hands were.
“Maybe try out a single claw instead” Kevin suggested in his mind after another jerk of the paw.
“It isn´t as easy as you think, Kevin. But I will try.” Luke replied. Getting angry now wouldn´t help them. Luke tilted his left paw forward, his first claw pointing at the human button and started to lower it carefully.
A loud bang outside, most likely their neighbor´s old car, made Luke jump fright. But, as he hadn´t jumped back, but up, he came crashing down on the remote.
