"I don't think he's reeeeally gonna give us his Game Boy to play with," Lincoln says, before trying to pull the keys from Levi's hands once again. As he does so, he hits a button on the keys.
Both Lincoln and Levi shimmer and are obscured by light.
A moment later, the keys fall to the carpet. Levi and Lincoln's clothes flop to the floor soon after.
"Oh no!" You didn't want anything to happen to Levi and Lincoln. Their parents were jerks, but they didn't deserve to be disintegrated or whatever the keys had just done.
No, wait. Both the piles of clothes start to move and a few moments later, a squirrel's head pops out of the t-shirt collar of Levi's shirt. There's some shuffling in Lincoln's pants before a squirrel pops out of the jean pant leg. Both of them seem to look each other over with evident confusion before Pat gives a growl and BARK.
Both rodents take off across the room and to the top of a bookshelf, the German shepherd in pursuit.
"What in the...h-hey, Pat! Quiet!"
The dog stops barking, but still gives a low growl at the two squirrels who are looking down from the top of the bookcase. Both seem to be young gray squirrels and you have a strong supicion of where they came from. The question is, whether the squirrels knew or whether they were just as squirrel as Keith and Pat were dogs at the moment.
But before you can check, the door swings up, revealing Amy and Jerry Bell, both looking displeased.
You had one brief moment to consider whether you wanted to deal with their "parenting" again before you decide to just grab and press the keys again. Both of them are obscured before their now (mostly) empty clothes flopped to the ground. There's some movement in the clothing before two squirrels manage to tunnel themselves out of the fabric, giving some angry squeaks and chitters and general squirrel sounds as they did so, which alerted the two excitable German shepherds.
After some barking and growling and general scrabbling, the two adult gray squirrels are chased down the hallway, the dogs in pursuit. You figure what will keep the Bells (and Pat and Keith) occupied for a short while. You felt much less guilt at Amy and Jerry dealing with dogs than the twins.
You look back up to the squirrels, who both look twitchy.
"Levi? Lincoln? Is that you?"
Both of the squirrels look confused for a long enough of a moment you think they might be fully squirrel before they both give a little nod. Then, in both noticing their respective nods, realized the squirrel next to them was their brother. The two squirrels pawed at each other's faces giving squeaks.
You go to close the door, pausing to listen, hearing some general growling and squeaking, which most likely meant the dogs had chased the other squirrels up somewhere high. After making sure the door is securely closed, you go back to the bookshelf, lifting up your hands.
"Hey there, guys. How about you come to me?"
The squirrels both carefully step into your hands. They're both still twitchy, but calmer than before.
"I...ur...did a magic trick to turn you into squirrels. Sorry about that. Are...you guys doing OK?"
The squirrels take a moment to look down at themselves and then at each other once more, before both collectively nodding and giving happy squeaks. They both leap off your hands, one jumping all around the rumpled bedsheets and burrowing into a pile of plushies, while the other squirrel swoops around toys on the floor and hones in on a half-eaten peanut bar to nibble on.
