The dice showed a 1 and a 3, which would put her on a yellow space, but Jen was still reluctant to move her pawn.
"Hurry up, you old fogey!" Trevor shouted, bouncing in his chair. Hailey's little brother was only 9 years old, while she and the other girls were all 14, having just started high school. Everyone was unaware how portentous his words had just been.
Sighing, Jen slid her red pawn forward 4 spaces and picked up a yellow card.
"It... it just says '+50 years'... what does that mean? What do I do now that - ohhhh!" she trailed off with a groan and the others watched in frozen horror as the game began to take effect on their friend. Jen's eyes had scrunched closed as she wrapped her arms around herself and bent forward, but Trevor and the girls could see that her face was somehow stretching, the skin looking thinner and duller as wrinkles formed around her mouth and eyes. Gray hairs were rapidly growing, replacing her once-brown locks with a wavy silver mane. Her cheeks sagged a bit, resembling jowls that flowed into her droopy neck. Opening her eyes, Jen held her hands out in front of her, rheumy eyes wide in shock as she took in their wizened, age-spotted appearance. She was still hunched over a bit in her chair, and it seemed she had put on some weight, pockets of fat appearing and redistributing as her body changed to match her older visage.
"WHAT IN TARNATION?!" she exclaimed, before slapping her knobby fingers to her thin lips. "Did this gosh-darn game just make me FIFTY YEARS OLDER?! I'm so mad I could just SPIT! Ahh! And why am I talking like this?!"
The shock was wearing off for the others, and their focus all shifted to Hailey as she leaned in to scoop up the dice and shake them vigorously. "This game is INCREDIBLE! It's freakin' MAGIC! What do y'all think the other cards will do to us?!" she said excitedly.
Jen slapped her hands on the table, causing the board and pawns to jump. "HAILEY! How can you say that?! Look at me young lady!"
