Serad still had yet to return, when it was time for the next Maid to enter the room.
She was there to restock the Queen's refreshments, but she noticed the Vase as she walked past, her eyes falling on a line.
"Is that...?" The Maid leaned closer, running a finger over the gap and small nub beneath.
"What would cause a crack like this? Anyway, this certainly isn't acceptable in the Queen's room."
She quickly finished restocking the refreshments, before walking out, soon returning with a small tray, covered in cleaning supplies.
The Maid started off with a small piece of sandpaper, sanding away the small nub, and the mound around the crack.
It took a while, but she managed to sand away everything, leaving only the vertical gap, to which she applied a generous amount of polish.
After a few minutes, and two more applications of the polish, the crack was finally gone, and the surface had become perfectly smooth.
She ran a gloved finger over the spot, feeling satisfied when she felt no uneven spots.
"Some parts could use more work... but i don't see any other flaws, so i should return to my other duties for now."
The Maid put everything back on the tray, took off her gloves, and picked it up.
"Let's see, next would beeee- Ah! It should be about time for dinner to be served in the mess hall! I hope i'm not too late."
She hurriedly left the room, afraid that there may not be any dessert left by the time she got there.
