"Y..you can't arrest me! I have a very rare condition and need help! I have cat-scratch fever and it's slowly turning me into a cat!" Pam yowled. The nurse and the cop immediately froze, but identical looks of skepticism crossed their faces.
"Um, ma'am. That is not a thing. A human cannot turn into a cat... though I've encountered plenty of people who wish they could when I worked in the psych ward." the veteran nurse was still glowering. "We're trying to save lives and don't have the time nor resources to deal with pranks!"
Pam cowered in the chair, her ears flattened in fear. "It's the truth! Look! I think I have whiskers sprouting! And see how sharp my nails are?!" she held out her hands and flexed her fingertips, only to drop her jaw in shock when razor-sharp feline claws slid outward from the tips of her fingers!
"Jeremy! Come down here and help me with this." the nurse raised her voice to call an orderly from down the hall before turning to the officer. "We're going to have to take her up to level three for a psych-eval. Did you want to tag along or have us call you in a few hours when she's calmed down and you can get some information?"
"Wait, no, what is happening to me?! You don't understand! I think this old lady put a curse on me!" Pam was shouting, struggling to get out of the chair as Jeremy fastened a strap around her chest.
"Ma'am. MA'AM. I'm going to need you to CALM DOWN." the nurse clapped her hands in front of Pam's face. I don't know what kind of cosmetic surgery you've had done, but we can't have you yelling nonsense in the hallways.
