You were on your way to your usual grocery shopping downtown when your eyes catch a store you hadn't seen before, causing your steps to slow down. This sure was an interesting new store on the block, tucked between an empty storefront with a broken door and a thrift store selling off it's clothing racks for less than $5.00 a pop, you stopped entirely and walked up to the display window, leaning forwards in interest while noting the name of the place you'd never seen or heard of before: MEGA-X RECORDS. Looking at the advertisement in the window, your eyes glance down to read that you can "Get Anything and Everything that ever Existed; Copies from your Wildest Dreams", making your lips twitch in mild amusement at what looked to be obviously over hyperbole. Yet, something pulled you away from walking towards your usual grocery spot, making your hand wrap around the cold, hard silver doorknob, and turning it.
The bell at the door sounded with a Ding!, loud to your ears. Inside smelled of the usual musk of plastic and cardboard boxes, but with a touch of the bubblegummy scent of malls, the shelves filled up with assorted discs both blank, music, video games, movies. What really caught your eyes were a small collection of blank CDs in jewel cases, still in their plastic wrap and price-tagged to boot.
The place was lonely, not only there weren't any costumers, you didn't see any cashiers or managers either. Odd, you swear the door said "Open". Regardless, your attention is caught by these blank CDs...
You notice it wasn't just the CDs, the posters, the vinyls, the screens, everything was ominously blank, speakers whirring with white noise as if the entire place was wrapped in static electricity. You noticed some slight shifting, like an animated background, but only slight, just enough to hint at something is on it, just can't make out anything about it just yet. The rest of the store's backdrop seemed like that too, music you'd never seen or heard getting mutated mid-note in an amusing doo-wop while video games shifted from blank screens to vague blurs of colors.
