The shop keeper, watching the two at a distance (clearly liking what he saw), cleared his throat. Carrie and John turned to him.
"If you've a fascination with Halloween, may I suggest taking a trip to Halloween Town? It's the perfect little quaint town full of vampires, werewolves, trick-or-treaters, castles, monsters, mad scientists. You can dabble in everything Halloween-like." The shop keeper paused, smiling as the couple stared at him, rapt. "Now, you don't have to be worried about werewolves or vampires snatching you, though you can if you'd like. But you can also enjoy the town with the safer and cuter aspects of Halloween." He pointed to the costumes. "Which looks like that's you're cup of tea."
Carrie grinned and John blushed. He had to admit that he enjoyed the cuter side of Halloween more than the blood and guts. The two looked at each other and nodded at the same time, then laughed. It was good being married to such a wonderful person, each thought.
"OK," John started, "where do we go and what do we need to do?" The shop keeper grinned and went behind his counter to rummage in a very messy file cabinet. After a minute or two, the shop keeper exclaimed, "Ah-HAH!". He turned back to John and Carrie and brandished a form and what looked like a brochure. "Here we go!" He handed Carrie the brochure and John the form.
The form looked to be a request sheet of sorts. A whole bunch of options were available, broken out into sections. The 'Scary' section had options like: 'Do you want to be bitten by a werewolf', or 'Do you want to have your blood sucked by a vampire', or 'Would you like to become a mummy'. The 'Non-Scary' section had options like 'Do you want to go trick-or-treating', and 'Do you want to attend a Halloween party'. A third section was listed as 'General'. It has options relating to how much the full moon should affect you and how it'd do so (werewolf, vampire, and many others, though John paused when he came to 'other' with a blank line next to it).
John showed Carrie the form and they worked out what they wanted to do and to happen to them during their trip. They handed the form back to the shop keeper, who took it and grinned widely at them. "You'll have an absolute ball! I happen to have a fondness for Halloween myself." He winked at the couple and stuffed the paper back into the file cabinet.
"Shouldn't that go to a bureau or something?" John asked. The shop keeper blinked, then said, "Of course not! It's already filed! The processing is all done. You needn't worry!"
Carrie hugged John, and said smiling...
