There were about thirty people in the room and a man in a business suit stepped up to
speak.
"I'm sure you are all aware of the current unemployment problem. I'm supposed to spell it
out to you anyway just to make sure you understand. We've had such a surge in
technological advancements recently that we've nearly replaced all menial labor with
machines. We used to think that such a plan would be great because then people wouldn't
have to work but it backfired. Yes, there is plenty of food and necessities but machines
depend on oil and rare minerals that have only gotten more expensive which has driven the
cost of living extremely high. But with machines doing the work, no one has any income to
pay the high prices."
"Our company has come up with a solution. The government has given us provisional
approval for this. There are some that think we should just turn off all the machines and
go back to a simpler way of life. But those people are in the minority so the government is
going with our plan."

you can earn enough money to even enjoy some luxuries when you get vacations."
