Decieding to relax, Marina turned on the hot tub in her room. She normally would not have had such a perk in her hotel room, but she had gotten a sweet package deal that included both the fancy hotel room and the boat rental. Her parents had also paid part of the costs as a birthday gift.
Stripping off her bathing suit (she had been so curious about the medallion that she hadn't even bothered to change when she got back to her hotel room), Marina had the odd whim to bring the medallion with her. Maybe she would have some kind of epiphany? Without really thinking about it, she put the medallion around her neck and climbed into the hot tub. She lay back to enjoy the warm, bubbling water.
A few minutes had passed when Marina's legs began to feel funny. At first she noticed this without really thinking anything of it, but her legs started to go numb. Marina thought they were just falling asleep for some reason and tried to shift her posistion. Now her legs felt all wrong. She tried to stand up in the hot tub, but couldn't. Something was wrong. Marina couldn't quite see her legs through the roiling water so she felt them with her hands. The texture felt all wrong.
