"Okay, I choose Transform, " said Beryl with a nervous smile.
Kyle seemed to think for a minute, then said, "Okay, for you transformation, your intelligence will increase until you are smart enough to know how to fix my problem. "
Beryl looked a little surprised by his choice, then quickly ducked her head and placed her hands on the sides of her temple, slowly rubbing her head. Kyle was concerned; he didn't want to hurt his sister, but he thought this might be the best solution to his problem.
"Beryl, are you okay?" asked Kyle.
Beryl kept rubbing her forehead furiously, with her eyes closed. Then, she suddenly stood up, stumbled back into the wall, and slowly opened her eyes.
"Whoa, that was intense, " she said, softly with a strange look on her face.
"I'm sorry, Beryl. I didn't mean to hurt you. It was the only thing I could think of, " said Kyle.
"Oh, It didn't hurt, " said Beryl, now looking around the room rapidly, focusing on random objects. It was like she saw everything in a new way.
"What was it like? " said Kyle softly, staring at her.
"Well, it was kind of like the rush you get after drinking a large cup of coffee. At first it seemed like a million thoughts were racing through my mind at once. It was hard to focus on one idea. But as time went on, my thoughts never slowed down but I began to understand them, all of them. Everything makes sense to me now."
"It doesn't hurt? "asked Kyle.
"No, it feels, a little weird, but also nice. Really nice, " she said with a strange smile. "I like it."
"I hope you believe me now. I guess I should have done something more physical to prove my story."
"Well, I'll admit I didn't really believe you before. But in the back of my mind, I kind of hoped it would work, and that you would make me the hottest girl in school. But this is better. But I know I'm different, and I definitely believe you now. And I know how to help you."
"Great, " said Kyle. "Let's hurry up and do it so we can get to school."
"Not so fast, big brother. I need you to do something for me first " said Beryl, with a sly smile.
