“…get you dressed!” Anna walks over to a dresser and pulls out a dress with Elsa from Frozen emblazoned on the front. “Come here, Kaitlin.”
“I’m not wearing that,” Kaitlin says firmly. Anna goes to Kaitlin and pulls the dress over her head. Laura giggles at the sight.
“When we leave, I’ve got some light-up sneakers that should fit you.”
“Great,” Kaitlin mumbles. Anna picks Laura up and leaves the room. “Wait, aren’t you going to dreth Laura?”
“No. I’ll dress her after we have breakfast. Otherwise, she’ll get food all over her clothes. Babies like her are messy eaters.”
“Me no baby,” Laura protests.
“You certainly poop and pee like one,” Anna says. Kaitlin follows her out of the room and downstairs. In the living room, the playpen is set up directly in front of the TV. Like the night before, Anna immediately places Laura there.
“But-” Laura starts. Anna pops a pacifier in her mouth. Laura suckles on it instinctively.
“Take a seat, Kaitlin,” Anna instructs. Kaitlin reluctantly sits on the couch. “The two of you can watch TV while I work on breakfast.” Anna turns on the TV and flips through the channel until they arrive at one exclusively home to cartoons for young children.
“I don’t want to watch thith,” Kaitlin says. She reaches for the remote. Anna takes it away. “Anna!”
“I’ll get the two of you when breakfast is ready,” Anna says. She walks away, leaving Kaitlin on the couch, Laura in the playpen, and childish cartoons playing on the TV.
