Laura decides to climb out of the window in Mark’s room. She does so successfully, and drops to the ground outside with minimal pain. She sprints away hurriedly, putting as much space between her and Mark’s house as she can.
Once she’s a few blocks away, Laura slows to a walk. Mark’s mom will be looking for “Alexis”, dressed in boy’s clothes, so she needs to find a way to disguise herself. Otherwise, she might get picked up by whoever is recruited to search for her. She looks around and spots a clothing store.
Laura goes over to the clothing store and tries the door. It’s unlocked, despite the store being closed. She quietly goes inside, then makes a beeline for the portion of the store reserved for children’s clothes. A good disguise would be something very different from what she is currently wearing, so unfortunately, she’ll have to either dress younger or more feminine.
After perusing the selection for a few minutes, Laura comes up with a handful of options. She looks over the outfits thoughtfully.
